Guitars.

Seeing as I'm in the mood to keep writing, and I've been excited by my Christmas present (DIY Telecaster, yes pal!), I've decided to post a post (see what I did there?) about some guitars.

There's not really a criteria I'm following at the moment, so bare with me, I'm making it up as I go along.

Epiphone EJ-200.
This is my latest guitar. I put all my birthday money together to buy this. If I can be totally honest, it's great. What it is basically is an acoustic guitar. It's a super jumbo. It's in a natural finish. It's lovely. I got it for £300 from the guitar boutique in town (the only good guitar shop in the Nottingham city centre, you may know it, lovely people, nice place). It's got a nice low action, it was ready to play (even tuned up!) as soon as it came out of the box. I really enjoy playing it, it's got strap thingies on both sides of the guitar so no tying up mullarkey. I've not given her a name yet. My favourite things to play on it, including mostly Oasis/Noel Gallagher numbers. I can sit there and just play 'Importance of being idle' over and over again. I struggled with it at first, the extra you get (seeing as it's a super jumbo) troubled me at first, being a short human being. But I quickly got over it, I usually stand up to play it if I'm honest.

Epiphone Dot.
Awh, now what to say about this guitar. I don't actually own one of these... yet. Depending on my financial situation come January, I'm going to have a serious look at getting one of these. Why you ask, well I shall tell you. For me, this is the affordable-holy grail. I've wanted one of these since I first got into guitar (some a millenium ago, it feels). I want one for a variety of reasons. One of them is because all my heroes play Gibson versions (kinda) of this guitar; so Marr, Gallagher, Archer, Kane; the list is endless. Another reason is because, I think the clean (and even unplugged) sound of this guitar is heavenly. I've played a few (including Butters' ebony version, I want a cherry one) and they are very comfortable guitars. For £330 they aren't bad priced and I'd kill for one (I wouldn't, but I'd do a lot for one).

Squier Bronco Bass.
Thought I'd have to talk about one of my bass guitars in this thing. I got my Bronco the day uni finally said yes (cracking day, got a Stereophonics CD and a kinder egg). It's red, and it's a short scale bass guitar, what else do you want? It's pretty battered if I'm honest, I got it second hand for 60 quid but it plays incredulously. I enjoy playing bass guitar, it's not my first love by any means, but picking this bass guitar up and having a bit of fun (whether I'm writing my own shit or playing 'I wanna be adored' over and over again) the Bronco doesn't fail to deliver. It's special to me, as it was my first bass guitar, in the new year, depending on my financial situation, I may look into giving the sexy little thing a clean up, get it up to scratch.

Thriller.
Funny story about Thriller is that it's in about 17 bits, in a box behind my settee. It's my Christmas present! A DIY telecaster (baby!). Why are you talking about this guitar that's not even been painted yet Samuel, well I'll tell you mr consciousness. It feels special. I don't know, but it just feels special. I've bought a 3 pronged bridge and some strings for it so far. I'm going to go and get a bigsby fitted on it, d'ya know why? Because I can! It's going to be double designed, I'm going to try and get some sort of funky pattern paper and spray it on, going to try and rip off the paisley tele's Fender do. On the back, I'm gonna get some sort of unique design on it, incorporating both Thriller (though, subject to change), and my name, and something right funky. I'm building this all by myself as well, I'm looking forward to it, I'm determined to finish it and have a proper good guitar at the end.

Anyway, the last post was named after an Arctic Monkeys song, I'm now listening to some Miles Kane.

I don't have anything more to add, so for the time being.

Peace.

P.S - You reeeearrrrangeeeee my mind!

Dance little liar...

Hello.

It's been a long while since I've done something on this. It's been a right busy time since last time.

2011. What more can I say?

It's been a great year; university's been fun, the music's been great, I've seen some of that music live and wow, awesome. I've also had some top nights out with some lovely people.

The end of 2011 has been weird, I think I've only seen about 10 people really, not including the folk I see around everywhere. I've decided to keep myself to myself, weird stuff man.

I'll be back for 2012 I think.

I imagine I'll post some stuff about 2011, and then some stuff about 2012 after, I'd like to look back over the year, and look at the new one.

At the moment, I'm laying in bed, listening to music through my earthingies, chilling out before the Froch/Ward fight. How on earth am I gonna stay up 'til 4 to watch it? I'm shattered as it is!

Becoming 20 (which was lovely, by the way, lovely birthday) has been weird, I've sorted gone from 19 to 82. Need to find some energy. Think my new years resolution may have to be, "to become fitter, better at guitar, and to stay remarkably cool, even in the face of adversity"

I should be a poet!

I may stick a post up right after this, as I'm in the mood.

Inabit.
